The chronology of the Rai concerts can be explored from 1933 to the present day, and allows the visualisation of all the concert brochures conserved in the Rai Historical Archive (the collection is almost complete only from 1947 onwards). At present the database allows the search of approximately 6500 concerts (excluding repeats of the same program on different dates), which can be refined through the use of some advanced filters. The activity is related to the symphony orchestras of Turin, Milan, Rome and Naples, as well as - since 1994 - to the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale. The chronology was reconstructed mainly upon the information contained in the digitised concert brochures. The first phase of the project, focused on the events scheduled in Turin, was the result of a FIRB project coordinated by Andrea Malvano between 2012 and 2016 («Reordering, Cataloging and Study of Manuscripts and Printed Documents in the Music Archive of the Rai National Symphony Orchestra»). The updates uploaded between 2020 and 2023, about the concerts in Milan, Rome and Naples, are the outcome of a specific PRIN research entitled «The education of art music audiences in Italy from the 20th century to the present day«. The local coordinator was Andrea Malvano (University of Turin), and the national coordinator was Luca Aversano (University of Rome 3). Records were edited by Filippo Arri, Marida Rizzuti, Mario Borghesi, Faira Cerami e Andrea Dall’Armi.
